Madelyn Meissner, age 88, died Wednesday, March 8 at St. Mary's Hospital. Madelyn was born December 7, 1928 in Hawley, Minnesota to parents George and Mabel Dauner. She attended school in Hawley, Minnesota and graduated in 1946. She married Elroy Meissner on October 1, 1947 in Hawley Minnesota. After living in Hawley for three years they moved to their farm in rural Hawley, where they raised 6 children. In 1970 Elroy and Madelyn were named Clay County Dairy Farm Family of the Year. Madelyn Meissner, age 88, died Wednesday, March 8 at St. Mary's Hospital. Madelyn was born December 7, 1928 in Hawley, Minnesota to parents George and Mabel Dauner. She attended school in Hawley, Minnesota and graduated in 1946. She married Elroy Meissner on October 1, 1947 in Hawley Minnesota. After living in Hawley for three years they moved to their farm in rural Hawley, where they raised 6 children. In 1970 Elroy and Madelyn were named Clay County Dairy Farm Family of the Year. Madelyn enjoyed reading, crocheting, bowling, and golfing. She was active in Lysne Lutheran Church, and the Hawley Golf Club. When Elroy retired from farming in 1987 they started spending more time in Tucson Arizona. They came to Tucson for over 25 years, and in 2009 became full time residents. She was active in the "Ladies 9 Holers" at Tucson Estates Golf Club. She enjoyed playing cards especially bridge and also became an avid Wildcat fan. Her faith, companionship of her Husband Elroy, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were most important to her.

She was preceded in death by her husband Elroy, son Paul, and grandson Gregg. She is survived by 1 daughter Lois & (Rick), of Wiggins, CO, and 4 Sons, Jim & (Brenda) of Tucson, AZ, Dave & (Kathy) of Hawley MN, Steve & (Sharon) of Las Vegas, NV, and John of Eagan, MN., 11 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren, and 1 brother Leroy of Hawley MN.
Services will be held at Mount Zion Lutheran Church in Tucson Arizona on Wednesday, March 22 at 10:00 AM
And also at Lysne Lutheran Church in Hawley Minnesota on Tuesday May 30 at 2:30 PM
